Furuvik was established in 1900 as an amusement park after an American model. Furuvik have everything from the animals, amusement park with carousels and lotteries, scene with various shows as well as numerous of different events and concerts with both Swedish and international artists.

Within walking distance we have our aquapark with both indoor- and outdoor swimming pools.

They also have spa, relax and training opportunities. 

Our neighbour, Gavle's main shopping mall called Gallerian Nian, have several shops for all different ages as well as a big variety of restaurants.

Around the corner we have the well known sports bar Olearys which have both bowling and shuffleboard. 

Gävle's own oasis in the middle of our city. Boulognerskogen start right behind our pensionat and offers everything from quiescent picnic areas in the green nature, our city bath, mini-golf, three big playgrounds for children of different ages, as well as volleyboll fields and outdoor gym. During summer there is also free outdoor training with Friskis & Svettis.

Our closest gym is Friskis & Svettis, roughly 300m from our pensionat, where it is possible to buy for example single use card.

Tastings, guided tours through the distillery or maybe, their bar & bistro are tempting where they offer whisky inspired food in a relaxing atmosphere. 

The national railway museum whit one of the worlds primary collections of locomotives and wagons, such as Prins August from 1856 and diverse cool vehicles and items from our Swedish railway history.

One museum of two prisons with basic exhibitions in a castle prison (slottshäkte) from 1732 and a cell prison (cell fängelse) from 1847.
